Absentee Bidding

We have established an impeccable reputation for handling absentee bids in a competitive and fair manner. All absentee bids will be strictly confidential and will be available only to the Auctioneer and his Clerk. 

We must have credit card information on file in order to accept an absentee bid. Credit card information may be provided through our secure server when submitting the absentee bid. The credit card will be charged along with a 3% buyer's premium if you are the high bidder unless other payment arrangements have been made within 24 hours after the auction ends. No buyer's premium will be added to cash or check purchases.

Absentee bids may be placed up until 2 hours prior to the start of the sale. Please contact us if you need more information about this process.

I understand that Montrie Auction Service offers Absentee Bidding as a convenience for clients and assumes no responsibility for failure to execute these bids for any reason whatsoever. Terms and Conditions of Sale:

Please read carefully; these terms and conditions are absolute and cannot be altered or changed in any way. If you cannot follow these terms 100% do not bid. If you do not understand these conditions, please ask the auctioneer or one of the staff BEFORE bidding.
BUYER'S PREMIUM: A buyer's premium may be in effect for the auction you are placing bids on. You will be responsible for paying your high bid amount PLUS the buyer's premium. Please make sure you check the individual auction listing so that you know what the buyer's premium is.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL: No returns or exchanges are accepted once the Auctioneer accepts the buyer's final winning bid. Once the item is sold, the winning bidder becomes the new owner of the item and has effected a legally binding contract which cannot be altered or voided.
NO WARRANTIES: All items are sold as is, where is without warranties, representations or guarantees, expressed or implied as to the quality, character, condition or authenticity.
INSPECTION: The buyer agrees to rely exclusively on his/her pre-auction personal inspection of the property. Any descriptions, titles, conditions, or grading information has been provided by the sellers as their opinion. Bidders should rely exclusively on their on inspection and judgment.
RISK OF LOSS: The buyer takes takes full responsibility and assumes all risk of loss, damage or theft for all property purchased from the time Auctioneer accepts the buyer's final winning bid (exception for absentee bidders). Any items being shipped require insurance and tracking information to be added.
REMOVAL: Buyer agrees to remove all purchased property from the auction site the night of the auction. The Buyer is fully responsible for the expense and risk of the removal of property and for any damage to property or injury to persons caused by themselves, their agents or employees that occurs during the removal of the property. Items remaining for 2 or more weeks is considered abandoned and becomes the property of Montrie Auction & Estate Service L.L.C. Any such items will be resold or disposed of without any reimbursement or refund to the buyer.
SETTLEMENT: The United States and State Laws and Penalties for failure to settle and pay shall apply. The buyer agrees to make complete settlement on all purchases during or immediately after the conclusion of the Auction on the sale day in cash, certified funds, personal/company checks or credit card. Credit cards will be charged on all purchases when other payment arrangements have not been made within 2 business days after the end of the sale; A buyer's premium and sales tax may be added to the final price if applicable. An additional 5% buyer's premium applies to all credit card purchases. Buyer's pay ALL shipping/handling & insurance costs. A $25 fee applies for all returned checks.
